Barkleigh Productions Expands
This Pennsylvania-based pet industry leader, which produces a number of pet services sector trade shows across the U.S. and publishes the popular glossy trade magazine Groomer To Groomer, has grown dramatically in recent times.
In addition to hosting the extremely popular Groom Expo, which takes place each fall in Hershey, Pa., Barkleigh made headlines within the industry in summer 2012 when it was announced that the company had purchased the legendary All American Grooming Show from long time pet grooming industry superstar Jerry Schinberg.
Launched in 1973 in Illinois, that show helped to pioneer the now heralded creative grooming competition extravaganzas and went on to become the longest running show of its kind in the world. So this acquisition represented quite a coup for Barkleigh, which officially took over the show following the August 2012 event.
Meanwhile, Barkleigh has since branched out even further within the pet services sector by launching the Pet Boarding & Daycare Expo and sister publication in fall 2012. The first event was scheduled to take place in November 2012.
Below is a full schedule of Barkleigh events:
Pet Boarding & Daycare Expo, Nov. 11-13, 2014 at the Sheraton Baltimore North Hotel, Baltimore, Md.
New England Grooming Show, Oct. 31-Nov. 2, Warwick, R.I.
Groom & Kennel Expo, Feb. 19-22, 2015, Pasadena Convention Center, Pasadena, Calif.
Northwest Grooming Show, took place April 10-13, 2014; next dates TBA, Murano Convention Center, Tacoma, Wash.
PetQuest, June 12-15, 2014, Roberts Conference Center, Wilmington, Ohio.
All American Grooming Show, Aug. 14-17, 2014, Westin Chicago North Shore Hotel, Wheeling, Ill.
Groom Expo is Barkleigh's flagship event and arguably the most popular pet groomer show of its kind in the U.S., if not the world.
The September, 2013 show which took place at the Hershey Lodge, Hershey, Pa., was especially monumental, because this marked Groom Expo's 25th anniversary. (For highlights, click here.)
The next event takes place Sept. 18-21, 2014 at the same venue.
